Average Wedding Cost

From here to there, wedding expenses are everywhere! With all the things you have to think about when planning a wedding, it can be easy to jump ahead without one of the most important things: your budget. Before you can even start to think about your budget, it may help to understand wedding costs in your area.

The average cost of a wedding in the United States in 2015 was more than $32,000. This includes the entire wedding, starting with attire and accessories and ending with the venue and catering. These average costs do not include the honeymoon. Below, I list the average wedding cost in various locations around the United States. These costs are based on what couples have spent in these areas, not necessarily what vendors charge. The more opulent your vision for your big day, the higher the expense. You can easily spend $20,000 to $30,000 more than the average wedding cost.

Los Angeles, CA $24,084

Miami, FL $22,485

New York, NY     $34,955

Washington, DC $44,856

Chicago, IL $23,741

Houston, TX $22,599

Seattle, WA $28,061

Boulder, CO $22,913

This can give you an idea of the amount couples have paid in various regions in the United States. As you can see, weddings located in the south typically cost less than weddings within the north, east and west. Weddings cost more in major metropolitan areas. For example, some weddings in New York, NY cost $80,000!

Since vendor prices vary so widely, make sure you hire a wedding planner. You should also keep in mind that the costs for everything can increase with more experienced vendors and customization raises costs as well. Hiring a planner will save you money because we know all the best vendors and get you the best deals!
